JKBOSE readying to hold annual 2024 exams

Srinagar, Nov 7: The Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (BOSE) is gearing up for the annual 2024 regular examinations for students of secondary and higher secondary classes in both hard and soft zones across the region.

The board has officially released the academic calendar for the 2023-2024 academic session, outlining the dates for the submission of examination forms and the tentative examination schedules for students in classes 10th, 11th, and 12th across Jammu and Kashmir.

As per the academic calendar issued by the Director of Academics in JKBOSE, the process for submission of examination forms for class 12th students in soft and hard zones of J&K would commence from the third week of November.

For class 10th the process would begin in the first week of December and for 11th students in the third week of December.

The examination schedule for class 12th students in soft zone areas is set to commence from the first week of March, followed by the examinations for class 10th in the second week of March and 11th students in the last week of March.

As specified in the academic calendar of JKBOSE, the results for class 12th examinations in soft zones would be declared in the second week of June with the results for class 10th to be declared in the third week and 11th examinations in the last week of the same month.

In hard zone areas, the annual regular 2024 examinations for class 10th and 12th students would start in the second week of April with class 11th examinations taking place in the last week of the same month.

The results for class 12th, 10th, and 11th examinations in hard zone areas are scheduled to be declared in the second, third, and last week of June.

The JKBOSE has identified the distribution of schools in hard zones with approximately 444 schools located in these challenging areas.

Of these, 309 schools are situated in the Jammu division and 135 in the Kashmir division. Additionally, seven zones within the Kargil district and the entire Ladakh region are classified as hard zones.

In the Kashmir division, specific districts have a significant number of schools in hard zones including 43 schools in Anantnag, 19 in Bandipora, 32 in Kupwara, 28 in Kulgam, and 13 in Budgam.

In the Jammu division, the distribution of schools in hard zones includes 50 in Kishtwar, 47 in Reasi, seven in Rajouri, 20 in Poonch, 56 in Doda, 64 in Ramban, and 65 in Udhampur.
