JKBOSE chairman gets one month extension
Srinagar Feb 05:The Jammu and Kashmir government on Wednesday extended the term of Chairman JK Board of School Education (BOSE) for one month.
The order in this regard was issued by the Financial Commissioner School Education Department (SED) Shantmanu.
"In continuation to the government order number 55-JK (Edu) of 2023, dates February 23 of 2023, sanction is hereby accorded to the grant of extension in the term of Dr Parikshat Singh Manhas as Chairman JKBOSE and Director SCERT, for a further period of one month from the date of expiry of his previous term, January 24 of 2025," the government order reads.
The incumbent chairman Prof Parikshat Singh Manhas was appointed as the Chairman JKBOSE on January 25 of 2023 on deputation basis for a period of two years. As per the order, his appointment came into effect "from the date of the issuance of the notification of his appointment." As per set norms, the incumbent chairman demited his office on January 25 of 2025.
As already reported by this newspaper, the J&K government on December 13, 2024 re-constituted a search committee for recommending the panel of the candidates for the appointment as Chairman JK Board of School Education (BOSE) and the Director Jammu and Kashmir State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT).
