JKAS officer, son die as landslide hits vehicle in Reasi, 5 others injured

Rajouri, Aug 01: In a tragic incident, Jammu and Kashmir Administrative Services officer and his eight years old son lost their lives while five of their relatives sustained injuries after a landslide hit their vehicle in Jammu and Kashmir's Reasi district.

The incident, officials said, happened on Friday late evening when a vehicle was plying on Thoru Pattian road in Thuro Tehsil of Reasi district and landslide hit the road stretch at Sulkh Pattian and debris fell over the vehicle.

In this incident, the officials further stated, JKAS officer Rajinder Singh and his minor son lost their lives who died on the spot.

Five other passengers travelling in the vehicle sustained injuries who all have been shifted to hospital.

The injured include wife of deceased officer and some other family members.

2011-batch JKAS officer Rajinder Singh was presently posted as Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) in Ramnagar area of Udhampur district.
