Srinagar, Nov 26: As part of the nationwide initiative ‘Aap ki Poonji, Aap Ka Adhikar : Your Money, Your Right’, mega facilitation camps are being organised on November 28 (Friday) in the districts of Kupwara, Kathua, Kulgam and Doda to help citizens trace and reclaim their long-pending financial assets.

The camps are a part of three-month awareness-cum-disbursement campaign launched by the Union Government’s Department of Financial Services (DFS) in coordination with the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) and financial-sector regulators, said a press release.

The purpose of these camps is to facilitate the settlement of unclaimed bank deposits, dormant insurance amounts, inactive mutual funds and dividend proceeds, unclaimed shares, and other unclaimed or inactive financial assets held across various financial institutions. The nationwide campaign aims to ensure that every rupee saved by citizens can be rightfully claimed by them or by their legal heirs and nominees.
