J&K treasuries to remain open from Mar 29 to 31

Jammu, Mar 20: All treasuries of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir will remain open from March 29 to 31 for conducting government business.

As per an order issued by Principal Secretary, J&K Finance Department Santosh D Vaidya, all the treasuries of Jammu district including Civil Secretariat treasury and New Delhi treasury will remain open on Friday, March 29, 2024 for conducting government business.

The Civil Secretariat Treasury, J&K and Sub Treasury, New Delhi will remain open on Saturday, March 30, 2024 for conducting government business.

“All treasuries of UT of J&K including Civil Secretariat Treasury and Sub Treasury, New Delhi shall remain open on Sunday, March 31, 2024 exclusively to receive government receipts only. Last date and time for receipt of claims for disbursement at the treasury for the fiscal year 2023-24 shall be March 29, 2024 at 4 pm. Treasury Officers shall communicate consolidated liability on March 29, by 5.30 pm,” the order read.

As per the order, the bills or claims so presented in the month of March are liable to special audit wherever required.

“Any bill presented after the cut-off time in the treasury shall be entertained with the prior approval of the Finance department,” Vaidya ordered.
