Srinagar, Mar 5:  BJP National General Secretary and Incharge Kashmir Affairs, Tarun Chugh Tuesday said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s policies had transformed Jammu and Kashmir from being known as the “terrorism capital” to the “tourism capital” of the country.

In an interaction with the reporters after visiting the rally venue, Chugh said that there had been significant developments in J&K including industrial growth, job creation for youth, and the eradication of corruption.

He expressed confidence that a large crowd, estimated between 1.5 to 2 lakh people, would attend the rally to show their support for PM Modi.

Chugh hailed the people’s admiration and trust in the PM, attributing the positive changes in J&K to his leadership, particularly the abrogation of Article 370.

“We have information that around 1.5 lakh to 2 lakh people will attend the rally at Bakshi Stadium,” he said. “The unwavering trust that the people of J&K, like the rest of the country, have in the PM, attribute this to the significant strides Kashmir has taken under his leadership.”

Chugh’s comments underscore the BJP’s narrative of portraying the abrogation of Article 370 as a pivotal moment that has brought about positive changes in J&K.

The party has consistently highlighted the J&K economic and social progress as a result of this move, contrasting it with the previous narrative of the region being associated primarily with terrorism.

Later, Chug chaired a crucial strategy review meeting at the BJP’s office at S-1, Church Lane, Srinagar, in preparation for the upcoming mega rally.

Key party leaders including BJP General Secretary (Organisation), Ashok Koul and General Secretary J&K, Sunil Sharma were present along with senior leaders and district presidents.

The meeting aimed to discuss and strategise the party’s approach for the rally scheduled for Thursday at Bakshi Stadium in Srinagar.

Addressing the attendees, Chugh commended the transformative policies of PM Modi, highlighting the shift from terrorism to tourism.

He praised the government’s initiatives in infrastructure and connectivity, emphasising their role in the region’s economic rejuvenation.

Chugh reiterated the Modi government’s commitment to inclusive development through schemes like PM Awas Yojana, Ayushman Bharat, and PM Kisan Samman Nidhi.

He urged the people of J&K to show their support for the PM’s vision by attending the rally in large numbers.

The meeting concluded with detailed plans for public outreach, including nukkad sabhas, door-to-door campaigns, and social media drives.

The party aims to mobilise support across all sections of society, ensuring a successful event that reflects the region’s trust in PM Modi’s leadership.

During the meeting, Koul emphasised the historical significance of the PM’s visit and the rally.

He called for unity and support for the BJP’s mission to bring prosperity to J&K.
