Srinagar, July 29: The Meteorological Centre Srinagar on Tuesday issued an advisory, forecasting a wet week along with gusty winds ahead in Jammu and Kashmir in general, with heavy to very heavy rains expected in the Jammu, Reasi, Udhampur, Kathua, Rajouri, and Samba districts of the Jammu division in particular, followed by hot and humid weather.

The advisory warns of the possibility of flash floods, landslides, mudslides, and shooting stones at a few vulnerable places in Jammu and Kashmir during the period.

As per the advisory, Jammu, Reasi, Udhampur, Kathua, Rajouri & Samba districts of Jammu division will witness heavy to very heavy rains mainly towards late night or early morning on 29-31st July. However, it reads the weather in general will remain "generally cloudy with possibility of intermittent light to moderate rain at many places with intense showers and Gusty winds at few places".

From 1 to 3rd Aug, the weather is expected to remain generally hot and humid with brief spell of rain and thundershower activity at few places.

Further, as per the advisory, from 4 to 6 August, fresh spells of light to moderate rain and thundershower are predicted at many places in Jammu and Kashmir.

The Meteorological center, as per the advisory issued to the public, cautioned that there is the possibility of flash floods with landslides, mudslides & shooting stones at few vulnerable places in Jammu and Kashmir during the period.

The advisory also warns about the rise in water level in rivers, streams and water logging in few low-lying areas of Jammu division.
