J&K to host 13 matches of Legends League Cricket Tournament from Oct 3
Srinagar, Sep 6: Jammu and Kashmir is gearing up to host a significant portion of the third leg of the Legends League Cricket (LLC) tournament, with 13 matches scheduled across two venues.
The Maulana Azad Stadium in Jammu and the Bakshi Stadium in Srinagar will be the region's focal points for cricket enthusiasts.
Building on the success of last year's edition in Jammu, which saw packed stadiums cheering for national and international cricket stars, the organizers have expanded the tournament's presence in the region. Jammu will host six matches from October 3-7, while Srinagar will see seven matches, including the crucial qualifier, eliminator, semi-final, and final games, from October 9-16.
The franchise-based tournament, featuring over 200 players, will be played across four cities: Jodhpur, Surat, Jammu, and Srinagar. Notably, this marks the return of high-profile cricket to Srinagar after a 40-year hiatus.
Raman Raheja, CEO of Legends League Cricket, emphasized the unique opportunity this presents for cricketers to experience Kashmir's beauty and the warm hospitality of Srinagar's residents.
The tournament kicks off in Jodhpur on September 20, moves to Surat on September 27, before heading to Jammu and concluding in Srinagar. Cricket fans in Jammu and Kashmir can look forward to witnessing exciting clashes between teams like India Capitals, Manipal Tigers, Konark Suryas Odisha, and others.
This event is expected to boost cricket enthusiasm in the region and provide a platform for showcasing local infrastructure and hospitality on a national stage.
