Jammu, Sep 10: A 26-member Sub-Junior Rollball team from Jammu and Kashmir, featuring both boys and girls, has been cleared by the J&K Sports Council Screening Committee to participate in the 17th Sub-Junior Rollball National Championship, scheduled to be held in Pune from September 12 to 15.

A statement said that the screening committee was led by Baljinder Singh, Divisional Sports Officer, with assistance from Suraj Bhan, Manager of the Indoor Complex, and Joginder Singh.

The final team selection was made on August 24. Following their selection, the players underwent a mandatory training camp starting August 25, under the supervision of Madhu Sharma, supported by Suresh Kumar and Manvijay Singh Slathia.

The boys' team includes Captain Samuel Khokhar, along with Bhavyansh Sharma, Mohd Daiyan Bagdadi, Astitva Choudhary, Zehraan Talib, Vivan Sharma, Vaibhav Sharma, Amman Showkat, Agrim Bangotra, Sundandan Sharma, Reyansh Sambyal, and Udhav Sharma. The girls' team is led by Captain Qurat Yaseen and comprises Shahzadi Eleeza Makhdoomi, Arushma Mir, Dhwani Nanda, Areeba Mir, Urwah Sajad, Sanna Dhiman, Harshita Saini, Meera Verma, and Qubrah Parvaiz. The team is coached by Suresh Kumar and Manvijay Singh, with Rekha Nanda and Rekha Abrol serving as managers.

Suvidha Sareen, an International Rollball player, motivated the players to perform well in the upcoming championship, encouraging them to showcase their talents and make their region proud, the statement said.
