J&K Sports Council asks recognised associations to submit activity calendar by April 15
Srinagar, Apr 5: The Jammu and Kashmir Sports Council has directed all recognised sports associations in Jammu and Kashmir to submit their annual calendar of activities for the financial year 2025–26 by or before April 15, 2025.
“All recognised sports associations are accordingly directed to furnish the calendar of activities proposed at various levels during the financial year 2025-26 in the following format on or before 15" April, 2025, in both hard and soft copies”," reads the circular.
The circular issued emphasises timely planning and execution of district, UT, and national-level events to enhance youth engagement and improve athletic performance across disciplines.
As per the directive, associations are asked to include selection trials, pre-participation coaching camps, and plans for hosting national-level events. It has asked that submissions must be made in both hard and soft copies, with the latter to be emailed to jkstatesportscouncil@gmail.com for inclusion in official pamphlets and public awareness initiatives.
In addition to the proposed activity calendar, associations have been asked to submit details of activities conducted during 2024–25, utilisation certificates for grants received, an annual recognition fee of Rs 10,000, audited accounts for 2023–24 and 2024–25, and details of medals won at national and international events.
The Sports Council, through the circular, has also clarified that associations failing to meet the submission deadline or found in violation of guidelines—like financial irregularities or failure to conduct timely elections—will not be eligible for grants or assistance.
“It is pertinent to mention that sports associations which fail to render the calendar of activities within the stipulated period shall not be eligible for the grant in aid under any circumstances,” reads the circular.
The circular, however, adds that in such cases, the activities shall be conducted by the Sports Council itself for the welfare of the sports persons engaged in such sports disciplines. They are also advised to conduct selection trials for UT championships, including pre-participation coaching camps at Jammu/Srinagar, subject to the availability of facilities.
