Jammu, Nov 17: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Monday said that the security situation in Jammu and Kashmir had improved since August 2019.

Attending the 32nd meeting of the Northern Zonal Council, chaired by Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation Amit Shah in Faridabad, Haryana, LG Sinha, in his address, said the security situation had significantly improved since August 2019.

He said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and with the continuous guidance of Home Minister Amit Shah, J&K had been achieving greater and new heights on the development and security front since August 2019.

The LG said that after the abrogation of Article 370, J&K had witnessed a historic transformation in terms of economic growth, investment, infrastructure, connectivity, strengthening of grassroots democracy, and better opportunities for youth and women.

Terming the recent investigation by J&K Police to unearth and dismantle a pan-India terror network as meticulous, LG Sinha thanked the Home Minister for resolving various issues concerning J&K and guiding its all-around development.

“The 360-degree security mechanism has been strengthened,” he said. “Seamless coordination between intelligence and security agencies has been enhanced to foil nefarious designs of the adversary.”

The LG said that in the first phase of the 150th year commemoration of ‘Vande Mataram’, J&K achieved first place in the entire country in event participation, and out of the top 10 districts, 9 were from J&K.
