J&K polls: Over 50 percent voting recorded till 3 pm
Srinagar, Sept 18: The first phase of Jammu and Kashmir assembly elections going on today recorded over 50% of voting till 3:00 pm, an official communique said Wednesday.
“50.65 percent voter turnout has been recorded till 03:00 pm in all polling stations of 24 Assembly Constituencies of Jammu and Kashmir where polling is being held today under the first phase of General Elections to the Legislative Assembly”, read the communication from the Chief Electoral Officer, J&K.
Among the demands of voters, jobs, market deflation, and release of prisoners top the list.
As per the official details, Pampore recorded 35.70; Tral: 32.87; Pulwama: 40.20; Rajpora: 38.63; Zainapora: 45.40; Shopian: 48.40; DH Pora: 55.14; Kulgam: 50.75; Devsar: 46.34; Dooru: 50.50; Kokernag (ST): 50.00; Anantnag West: 39.51; Anantnag: 34.71; Srigufwara-Bijbehara: 48.30; Shangus-Anantnag East: 45.34; Pahalgam: 58.89; Inderwal: 72.20; Kishtwar: 67.58; Padder-Nagseni: 71.08; Bhadarwah: 58.32; Doda: 62.13; Doda West: 66.75; Ramban: 61.38; and Banihal: 59.00
The total poll percentage till 03:00 pm has been recorded as 50.65 percent, CEO J&K said.
Earlier at 01:00 pm, officials said the region recorded a 41.17 per cent of voter turn out.
