JK Polls: NC+ headed for a clean sweep in Srinagar
Srinagar, Oct 8: The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference (JKNC)-Congress coalition is currently heading for a clean sweep at the end of fifth round of vote counting in Srinagar, fresh trends showed Tuesday.
The General Elections to Legislative Assembly of J-K which are being held after a gap of ten years, has been termed as the most important elections in the region after its special status was abrogated and the state reorganised into a Union Territory.
In the eight seats across Srinagar, JKNC is leading from seven even as their ally Congress is leading from one.
Earlier today, JKNC vice president Omar Abdullah said there should be no “fiddling” with the mandate of people in Jammu and Kashmir, and that the Centre and the Raj Bhavan must not indulge in any “machinations”.
Although the capital Srinagar witnessed a low voter turnout than was expected, it is still showing surprises as the oldest party seem to sweep the elections from the city.
