J&K people have rejected NC, Cong, PDP: Raina
Reasi, Mar 18: J&K Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Ravinder Raina Monday stated that Congress, National Conference (NC) and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) were frustrated as they were “rejected by the people of the Union Territory.”
While talking to media on the sidelines of booth Sammelan and party’s workers’ meeting at Reasi, Raina, however, evaded to reply on his possible nomination from Rajouri-Anantnag seat.
“As J&K BJP president, it is my responsibility to win all five seats from J&K as a gift to the Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Therefore, I’m contesting from all five seats and will try to ensure the party’s win on all five seats,” he replied, when asked if he was contesting from Rajouri-Anantnag seat.
Responding to queries about opposition’s dig at BJP for “failing in its very first test of its much hyped “One Nation, One Election” campaign by indirectly sabotaging concurrent assembly and LS polls in J&K”, Raina said, “About assembly elections, ECI will take a call. As far as Congress, NC and PDP are concerned, they are frustrated as they have been rejected by the people of J&K. When they were in power, they committed atrocities upon the poor; the labour class; farmers and the downtrodden. They exploited Hindu, Muslims, Sikhs and Christians alike. They discriminated against Kashmiris as well as Dogras. But when Prime Minister Narendra Modi came, he worked for all by pursuing all-inclusive development thus winning the hearts of people.”
Earlier, addressing the meeting Raina stated that the BJP lives in the blood of the people of Reasi. He asked the party activists to ensure that every single vote from three Assembly constituencies under Reasi District should be polled in favour of the Modi government.
He added that this belt has always held the flag of BJP in high esteem. Raina remembered the works of great leaders like Rishi Kumar Kaushal and others who have contributed lot for the organisational growth, for the betterment of the people and the development in the area. He said that the BJP, while going into the Parliament election of 2024, is working on the vision of “Bharat of 2047”.
