Udaipur, Oct 14: J&K participated in two-day State and UT Tourism Ministers’ Conference held at Udaipur on October 14, 15. The delegation of J&K was lead by Advisor to the CM Nasir Aslam Wani and included Dr. Vikas Gupta, Director Tourism Jammu; Waseem Raja, Joint Director Tourism Kashmir; and Arif Lone, Assistant Director Tourism Jammu.

The presentation highlighted key destinations of J&K i.e Gulmarg, Sonmarg, Gurez and 'Sukrala Devi - Shiv Khori- Machail Mata & Sarthal Devi- Kheer Bhawani pilgrimage circuit' for development under the Budget Announcement Initiatives. The presentation focused on unlocking vast tourism potential through improved infrastructure, enhanced connectivity, and enriched visitor experiences, with an emphasis on promoting adventure, heritage, wellness, and spiritual tourism. The conference brought together Tourism Ministers, Secretaries and senior officials from across the country to deliberate on strategies for destination development in India, said an official press release.

The event was inaugurated by Union Minister of Tourism, Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, who emphasized the importance of collaborative efforts between the Centre and the States to strengthen the tourism ecosystem and enhance India’s position as a premier global travel destination.

The conference served as a vital platform for sharing best practices, forging partnerships, and aligning State and UT tourism strategies with national priorities to boost tourism-led growth and employment generation across the country.
