J&K MMA team shines at National Championship

Srinagar, May 14: The Jammu and Kashmir Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) team has etched their names in history with an extraordinary performance at the 7th MMA INDIA National Championship held in Chhattisgarh from May 8 to 12.

A statement said that amidst fierce competition from 27 states and Union Territories, boasting nearly 550 participants, the J&K team showcased unparalleled skill and determination.

The J&K contingent distinguished itself by securing an impressive haul of 11 gold, 8 silver, and 6 bronze medals, culminating in the lifting of the esteemed 1st Runner-up trophy. This remarkable achievement underscores the team's unwavering commitment to excellence and their exceptional prowess in the MMA arena. In an added triumph, all the Senior and Junior Gold medalists from the J&K team have been selected to represent India in the upcoming Asian MMA Championship scheduled to take place in Lahore, Pakistan, in July. This prestigious opportunity not only reflects their individual talent but also reaffirms the collective strength of the J&K MMA team on the international stage.
