J&K Lord Shiva’s preferred abode: LG Sinha
Jammu, Aug 4: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Monday described J&K as the “preferred abode of Lord Shiva and as such especially blessed by Him.”
He was addressing the gathering during a grand ‘Rudra Abhishek’ Pooja at Jammu, marking the sacred occasion of the 4th Monday of Shrawan Maas (month).
Jammu and Kashmir Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Sat Sharma accompanied the Lieutenant Governor during this spiritual event organised by J&K BJP spokesperson Gaurav Gupta at his residence at Gandhi Nagar, Jammu.
Speaking on the occasion, LG Sinha said, “The land of Jammu and Kashmir is especially blessed by God Shiva and is his preferred abode, showering blessings on every soul seeking His blessings.”
“The holy month of Shrawan holds immense spiritual importance. Rudra Abhishek is a powerful ritual that invokes the blessings of God Shiva for peace, prosperity, and well-being of all. May this sacred occasion bring harmony and strength to the people of Jammu and Kashmir,” he prayed.
Principal Secretary to LG Dr Mandeep Kumar Bhandari; Divisional Commissioner Ramesh Kumar; Commissioner Jammu Municipal Corporation Dr Devansh Yadav; Jammu University Vice-Chancellor Umesh Rai; Executive Director and CEO AIIMS Jammu Dr Shakti Kumar Gupta; Justice Rajinder Dogra; Northern Railway Jammu senior DCM Uchit Singhal besides others also attended the event besides Vikram Randhawa, MLA Bahu, family members of Gaurav Gupta, a large number of devotees and BJP workers.
The pooja was performed with Vedic rituals and chants, creating a deeply devotional atmosphere.
Sat Sharma marked the day as one of faith, unity, and collective prayers for the progress of the Union Territory. He said, "Participating in the Rudra Abhishek Pooja today was a deeply spiritual experience. We pray for peace, progress, and unity in Jammu and Kashmir under the divine blessings of Lord Shiva. These religious events also serve to connect society through shared faith and cultural heritage.”
Vikram Randhawa said that the event was an expression of deep devotion towards God Shiva, deeply rooted in our rich cultural heritage.
Gaurav Gupta, while extending gratitude to the Lieutenant Governor and J&K BJP president for participating in Rudra Abhishek, said, “Shrawan Maas is a time of spiritual reflection and devotion. Through such events, we aim to promote religious harmony and spiritual consciousness in society.”
