J&K JDU President welcomes new entrants into party fold
Srinagar, Apr 14: Janata Dal United (JDU) J&K President G M Shaheen Monday welcomed several prominent political workers into the party fold.
A statement of JDU issued here said that among those who joined JDU were key figures from the National Conference (NC) and District Development Council (DDC) Harwan, including Ali Muhammad. Welcoming the new members, Shaheen emphasised that the growing support for JDU reflects the people’s deep disillusionment with the NC.
He said that the NC had “failed in every respect,” and people had “lost all hope” in their ability to provide a credible and people-centric government.
Shaheen strongly criticised the NC leadership for ignoring their pre-election promises.
“They only remember their manifesto till elections. Once in power, they never speak of it again,” he said. Highlighting public grievances, Shaheen accused the current administration of prioritising luxury over public welfare.
“They are more focused on purchasing expensive vehicles than addressing issues like rising electricity tariffs, which are severely impacting the general public,” he said.
Reaffirming JDU’s commitment to accountability and grassroots empowerment, Shaheen called for a new political vision that puts the people of J&K first. He urged people to support a forward-thinking leadership that works not just for electoral gains, but for sustainable development and justice.
