Srinagar, Apr 29: The Grand Mufti of Jammu and Kashmir, Nasir-ul-Islam on Tuesday condemned the Pahalgam terror attack and urged both the governments-India and Pakistan that war is not a solution to resolve any problem.

Talking to reporters, Grand Mufti said that people behind the Pahalgam attack want to harm the peace of this country and set it on fire. "But we want to see peace here," he said. He "requested" the Prime Minister of India and the Prime Minister of Pakistan that war is not the solution to any problem.

"You can investigate on a global level. And for this, the institutions, like International Court of Justice or the other forums, you can go there. The people who are responsible for this (pahalgam attack), can be brought to justice," Grand Mufti said.

He said that war leads to destruction and nothing else while people in Kashmir do not want to see any kind of destruction here. On deportation of Pakistani females married in J&K, Grand Mufti said that the marriages that took place, should be tolerated by India and Pakistan. "And both countries should think that separating husband and wife is against the principles of humanity. Therefore, this is not right," he said.

He further said that an economic crisis was being created in the Valley regarding which he urged people of Kashmir to give preference to local shopkeepers instead of online shopping.

"We should buy things from local shopkeepers so that people's economic condition is not affected further," he said.

"We want to see peace here and spread brotherhood," he said.
