Jammu, Sep 9: J&K Grameen Bank organised a financial inclusion saturation camp at Gram Panchayat Channi Manhasan, Block Vijaypur, Tehsil Vijaypur, on Monday, covering its branches at Swankha Morh, Raya, and Jakh.

The event was attended by Chandrashekhar Azad, Regional Director, RBI Jammu, as chief guest, along with Vibha Gupta, Deputy General Manager, RBI, Sanjay Gupta, Chairman, J&K Grameen Bank, Sachin Gupta, General Manager, and senior officials from other banks.

The camp, part of the nationwide financial inclusion campaign launched by the Department of Financial Services, aimed at opening bank accounts for unbanked adults under the Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana (PMJDY). Eligible participants were also enrolled in the Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PMJJBY), Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY), and Atal Pension Yojana (APY). On-the-spot re-KYC of accounts due between 1 July 2025 and 30 June 2026 was also carried out.

Officials said awareness sessions on digital fraud prevention, accessing unclaimed deposits, and grievance redressal were an integral part of the camp.

The campaign, ongoing across all Gram Panchayats in Jammu and Kashmir, is expected to bring millions of unbanked and underserved individuals into the formal banking system. Authorities said such initiatives will help promote inclusive economic growth and strengthen financial literacy in the region.
