Jammu, Nov 10: The J&K government has revised the upper age limit for the Combined Competitive Examination (CCE)-2024, prescribing a four-year relaxation in the case of Open Merit candidates.

Following it, the Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission (JKPSC) has postponed the Combined Competitive Preliminary Examination – 2024, scheduled to be held on November 17, 2024.

JKPSC has stated that the fresh date for the said examination will be notified separately.

“In continuation to this office Notice dated October 21, 2024, it is for the information of all the concerned candidates appearing in the J&K Combined Competitive (Preliminary) Examination – 2024, notified vide Notification No 04-PSC(DR-P) of 2024 dated July 26, 2024, scheduled to be held on November 17, 2024 (Sunday) is hereby postponed. The fresh date for the said examination shall be notified separately,” read a notice issued by Sachin Jamwal, Controller Examination, JKPSC.

As per a notification issued by the General Administration Department, in the exercise of the powers conferred by the fourth proviso to clause (ii) of sub-rule (1) of rule 8 of the Jammu and Kashmir Combined Competitive Examination Rules, 2018, the Government has prescribed revised upper age limit for the Combined Competitive Examination (CCE)-2024.

As per the notification, in the case of Open Merit candidates, the upper age limit has been raised from 31 years to 35 years while in the case of Reserved Category candidates and in-service candidates, the age limit has been raised to 37 years. Earlier, in their case, the age limit was 34 years. Similarly, in the case of physically challenged candidates, the age limit has been prescribed as 38 years. Earlier, this age limit was 35 years.

Later during the day, the National Conference, while wishing luck to all the candidates, stated that it fulfilled another promise made in its manifesto. “As promised in our manifesto, the JKNC Government prescribes a revised upper age limit for the Jammu and Kashmir Combined Competitive Examination. We wish all the candidates good luck with their preparations!” a post by NC on ‘X’ read.
