J&K govt orders transfers, postings in civil administration
The reshuffle is aimed at improving administrative efficiency and ensuring effective governance.

Srinagar, Jan 27: The Jammu and Kashmir government has announced a significant administrative reshuffle involving several senior officers in the Jammu and Kashmir Administrative Services (JKAS).
The General Administration Department (GAD) issued Government Order No. 143-JK(GAD) of 2025, detailing the transfers and postings, which take immediate effect.

- Munir-ul-Islam, Secretary of the J&K Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board, has been transferred and posted as Secretary in the Information Department.
- Ajaz Abdullah Saraf, Additional Transport Commissioner, has been assigned as the Chief Executive Officer/Secretary of the J&K Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board.
- Dr. Firdous Ahmad Giri, Additional Director at SKIMS, Srinagar, will now serve as the Mission Director of RUSA, J&K.
- Qazi Sarwar, Additional Commissioner in the Divisional Commissioner’s Office, Kashmir, has been appointed as the Director of Urban Local Bodies, Kashmir.
- Bashir Ahmad Wani, Additional District Development Commissioner, Kulgam, has been transferred as Additional Registrar Cooperatives, Kashmir, while Altaf Ahmad Khan will take over his previous position.
- Sanjay Gupta, Deputy Commissioner, State Taxes (Samba), has been posted as Additional Secretary to the Government, Mining Department.
- Masarat Hashim, Chief Executive Officer of the Pahalgam Tourism Development Authority, has been assigned as Deputy Labour Commissioner (Central), J&K.
- Mridhu Salathia, Additional Mission Director of J&K Rural Livelihood Mission, Jammu, will now hold additional responsibilities as Mission Director of the National Urban Livelihood Mission (NULM).
