J&K Govt advertised 8296 posts, had 11525 recruitments in 2 years
Srinagar, Mar 18: The Jammu and Kashmir government has advertised a total of 8,296 posts through the Public Service Commission (JKPSC) and the Service Selection Recruitment Board (JKSSB) over the past two years. The information was given in response to a query from National Conference lawmaker Syed Bashir Ahmad Veeri in the assembly.
The government also revealed that 11,525 selections have been made during this period. “JKPSC advertised 3,296 vacancies, while JKSSB advertised 5,000 positions in the last two years,” it said.
In 2023 JKPSC recruitment 2,185 posts were advertised, including 838 in the Open Merit (OM) category and the remaining in reserved categories. In 2024; 1,111 posts were advertised, with 558 in the OM category and the rest in reserved categories. In 2023 again JKSSB recruitment; 329 posts were advertised, of which 165 were in the OM category. In 2024; 4,671 posts were advertised, with 1,867 in the OM category and the rest in reserved categories.
The government disclosed that 11,525 selections were finalized in the last two years, including 2,174 through JKPSC and 9,351 through JKSSB. JKPSC appointments numbered 2,174 (1,291 in OM and 884 in reserved categories). In 2023: 1,141 selections, including 588 in OM, 98 in SC, 102 in ST, 140 in RBA, 37 in ALC/IB, 41 in SLC; 39 in PSP, 79 in EWS, and 17 in PHC. In 2024: 1,034 selections, with 703 in OM, 64 in SC, 78 in RBA, 80 in ALC/IB, 23 in SLC, 15 in PSP, 37 in EWS, and 7 in PHC. JKSSB appointments numbered; 9,351 (4,773 in OM and 4,578 in reserved categories). In 2023: 3,695 selections, including 1,930 in OM, 413 in SC, 280 in ST, 80 in OSC, 116 in ALC/IB, 543 in RBA, 94 in PSP, and 239 in EWS were made. In 2024: 5,656 selections, with 2,843 in OM, 482 in SC, 201 in OSC, 227 in ALC/IB, 618 in RBA, 217 in PSP, and 525 in EWS were made.
