Srinagar, Oct 31: Host Jammu and Kashmir delivered an impressive all-round performance at the 69th National School Games in Wushu (Under-17) that concluded Friday at the Indoor Sports Complex, Wazirbagh, with local star Jiya Manhas and Uttar Pradesh’s Shaurya named Best Players in the girls’ and boys’ categories, respectively.

As per a statement issued, Jammu & Kashmir Girl Star Jiya Manhas was declared the best player of wushu among girls, and Shaurya from Uttar Pradesh was declared the best in the boys' category.

In the Girls Section, under the 45 kg weight category, Anushka Dattatraya Jain from Maharashtra clinched the gold medal, while Gayatri Pooniya from Rajasthan secured the silver. In the 48 kg category, Jiya Manhas representing Jammu & Kashmir bagged the Gold medal, with Aditi Rana from Chandigarh finishing with Silver.

In the 65 kg category, Almas Ali Khan from Rajasthan bagged the gold, and Rutba Shabir from Jammu & Kashmir won the silver. Finally, in the 70 kg weight category, Riya Mishra from Rajasthan captured the gold medal, with Harpreet Kaur from Punjab securing the silver.

In the Boys Section, under the 45 kg weight category, Gulshan Kumar from Delhi secured the gold medal, while Pankaj Nayan from Bihar claimed the silver.

In the 48 kg category, Nikhil from Delhi bagged the gold, and Syed Mursaleen earned the silver. Under the 52 kg weight category, Shaurya from Uttar Pradesh emerged victorious with the gold medal, while Kapish Bharat Rakwal from Jammu & Kashmir took the silver. In the 56 kg category, Mayank Roza from Uttar Pradesh displayed an outstanding performance to win gold, followed by Mahesh from Punjab, who secured the silver. In the 60 kg weight category, Anshul Bhati from Uttar Pradesh claimed the gold medal, whereas Ashish Dahiya from Delhi settled for the silver. In the 65 kg category, Suryansh Singh, representing Jammu & Kashmir, clinched the gold, while Divyanshu Singh Kathait from Maharashtra earned the silver. In the 70 kg category, Mohd Arhaan Parray from Jammu & Kashmir grabbed the gold medal, with Raj Kumar from Bihar taking home the silver. In the 75 kg category, Anshuman from Rajasthan emerged as the gold medallist, followed by Jasmeet Bhatia from Punjab, who claimed the silver.

Finally, in the 80 kg weight category, Mohd Haseeb Sheikh from Jammu & Kashmir secured the gold medal, while Nikhil Khatri from Delhi finished with the silver.

Sajad from Jammu & Kashmir and Parth Hanumant from Maharashtra in the 75 kg category, and Udit from Chandigarh along with Konsam from Manipur in the 80 kg weight category.

More than 40 teams representing different states and union territories participated in the championship.

The Directorate of Youth Services & Sports, J&K, extended heartfelt congratulations to all medal winners and participants for their exemplary performances and wished them greater success in their future sporting journeys.
