J&K emerging as model of self-reliance under PM Modi’s vision: Sat Sharma
Srinagar, Sep 30: Jammu and Kashmir is fast emerging as a model of self-reliance under the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP’s J&K president Sat Sharma (CA) said on Tuesday.
This was stated by Sharma while addressing a press conference here. He reiterated the party’s commitment to the Prime Minister’s mission of building an “Atmanirbhar Bharat”. He said the campaign, now a cornerstone of India’s economic growth, has provided a strong platform for sustained development in J&K.
BJP general secretary Anwar Khan, secretary Arif Raja, Media incharge Sajid Yousuf Shah and other senior leaders were present at the press meet.
Highlighting the transformative impact of the initiative, Sharma said the Atmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyan has empowered youth, women, small business owners, and start-ups across the Union Territory. “Under PM Modi’s leadership, India is moving towards the vision of Viksit Bharat and has already risen to become the world’s fourth-largest economy,” he said.
He described Atmanirbhar Bharat as more than a slogan, calling it “a mass movement reshaping the soul of India.” He added that in J&K, a “silent revolution” is underway, with youth turning into job creators, women stepping up as entrepreneurs, and local industries finding markets at national and global levels.
Sharma also cited the implementation of central schemes like PM SVANidhi, Startup India, and Vocal for Local in J&K, saying they have generated livelihoods and accelerated regional development.
Praising the resilience of the people of the Valley, the BJP leader said the Union Territory is steadily positioning itself as a model of self-reliance and innovation for the rest of the country.
