J&K crown of India, will change the govt at centre: Farooq Abdullah
Srinagar, Apr 25: National Conference (NC) President Dr Farooq Abdullah on Thursday stated that Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) was the crown of India and it will change the government at the Centre which will pave the way for change in the country also..
Addressing the gathering from Srinagar Congress office along with Vikar Rasool, Dr Farooq Abdullah said that the INDIA bloc was strong and they are hopeful of its Victory in New Delhi.
"We are all standing together in the INDIA bloc. We have come together to save our identity and to protect the constitution of India which is in danger," Farooq Abdullah said.
"You must have heard the Prime Minister's speech that he gave in Rajasthan. A Prime Minister is supposed to speak for all the people of the country and protect them. But they want to divide people," he said. NC President said whoever becomes the Prime Minister should not treat people on the basis of their religion and culture.
"They should act with wisdom. But I regret that they want to divide the nation and separate people be it Hindu, Muslim, Christian, Buddhist, or anyone else," he said.
Dr Farooq Abdullah said that people of all religions are the citizens of India. "But the Prime Minister wants to create rifts among people. The INDIA bloc is against this," he said.
He prayed for victory of candidates of INDIA bloc in the LS elections saying that then only the constitution of India will be saved. "And we will expose the shortcomings that have occurred so far and try to bring a change," he said.
NC President said the Election Commission of India (ECI) and the Judiciary needs to be changed and made independent.
"We also need to send governors who serve the people and not New Delhi. Governor should see the pain of the people, but not of New Delhi," he said.
Dr Farooq Abdullah said that important institutions were marred with the appointment of incompetent people as its leaders. "We need to save those institutions as well," he said.
He said while the GoI established IIT and IIM in Jammu, it needs to ascertain how many local students are studying there and how many local teachers have been appointed. "In all five universities, all the VCs are from outside. We need to save these institutions," NC President said.
He said that when Rahul Gandhi started his Padyatra, he came from Kanyakumari to Kashmir with a message to alleviate the pain of Kashmiris and to tell you that they want to save the nation and protect the Constitution.
"Similarly, when Aga Ruhulla will go to Parliament, I am hopeful that he will talk for everyone irrespective of color, creed, and religion," Dr Farooq Abdullah said.
