J&K Bank powers youth dreams, crosses 5,000 sanction letters under Mission YUVA
Srinagar, Sep 20: As part of the Government’s flagship initiative Mission YUVA, J&K Bank organised multiple “Login Day” events across Jammu and Kashmir this week, handing over sanction letters to aspiring entrepreneurs and marking a milestone of over 5,000 letters distributed under the programme. The initiative, aimed at promoting youth-led entrepreneurship in the Union Territory, witnessed participation from senior officers of district administrations, who appreciated the Bank’s proactive approach and urged beneficiaries to pursue their ventures with innovation and dedication to become job creators.
In Bandipora, the event was presided over by Deputy Commissioner Indu Kanwal (IAS) and General Manager Ashutosh Sareen, in the presence of Zonal Head Baramulla Tanveer Ahmad Najar and Cluster Heads of the Bank. In Samba, Deputy Commissioner Dr. Ayushi Sudan (IAS) and General Manager Narjay Gupta chaired the function, attended by Zonal Head Kathua Suresh Kumar Chowdhary, Assistant Director Employment Samba Naresh Kumar, and Cluster Heads.
In Udhampur, the programme was presided over by ADDC Rajinder Singh and General Manager Rakesh Koul, along with Zonal Head Udhampur Lalit Prakash.
The Kishtwar event was led by Deputy Commissioner Pankaj Kumar Sharma and General Manager Peer Masood Chishti, with ADC Pawan Kotwal and Zonal Head Doda Vinay Gupta in attendance.
In Ganderbal, ADDC Manzoor Ahmad Bhat and General Manager Anand Pal Singh, along with Zonal Head Budgam Shadab Mehboob and Cluster Heads, handed over sanction letters to beneficiaries. The Pulwama event was presided over by General Manager Rajesh Malla Tikoo, in the presence of Zonal Head Pulwama Irfan Anjum, LDM, and Cluster Heads.
In Srinagar, General Manager and Divisional Head Kashmir Arshad Qadri, together with Zonal Head Srinagar Layek Ahmad Jan and senior officers, distributed sanction letters to beneficiaries, while in Jammu, General Manager and Divisional Head Jammu Ashok Gupta chaired the event, attended by Zonal Head Jammu Anita Nehru, Deputy Director Employment Jammu Sunaina Saini, Cluster Heads, and other officers.
During the week, a total of 356 sanction letters were handed over to aspiring entrepreneurs across these districts, enabling them to launch new ventures and contribute to the local economy. Bank officials reiterated their commitment to Mission YUVA, urging young entrepreneurs to leverage the scheme and transform their ideas into sustainable businesses. The Bank’s staff, led by its leadership, continues to work in mission mode to achieve the government’s targets.
Launched by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on 28 June, Mission YUVA aims to create 1.37 lakh enterprises and 4.25 lakh jobs over the next five years. J&K Bank, through its Yuva Udaan campaign launched on 4 July by MD & CEO Amitava Chatterjee, has prioritised processing youth entrepreneurship cases to ensure full achievement of the set targets.
