J&K Bank organises awareness programme to combat drug addiction
Jammu, Mar 23: In a concerted effort to address the pressing issue of tobacco and drug addiction, J&K Bank's Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, "NAJATH," conducted a comprehensive awareness programme at Moulana Azad Memorial College, Jammu. The event saw active participation from various stakeholders and drew attention to the urgent need for collective action to tackle this societal menace.
A statement said that the event witnessed the presence of approximately 400 participants, including esteemed dignitaries and experts in the field. Notable attendees included Prof Anand, Principal of Moulana Azad Memorial College; Dr Mannu Arora, Head of Psychiatry at GMC Jammu; Dr Mirdula, Nodal Officer of ATPC; the Director of Health Services, Jammu; as well as clinical psychologists from the drug de-addiction center at Police Lines, Jammu. Additionally, faculty members and concerned citizens joined hands to contribute to this crucial initiative.
The programme featured insightful discussions, presentations, and interactive sessions aimed at raising awareness about the adverse effects of tobacco and drug addiction on individuals, families, and communities. Emphasizing the importance of preventive measures and rehabilitation, experts shed light on the various health, social, and economic implications associated with addiction.
