J&K Bank hosts Mission YUVA events as sanctioned cases cross 1,000
Srinagar, Jul 22: With the number of sanctioned cases under Mission YUVA crossing the 1,000-mark, J\&K Bank on Monday organised special events at its Zonal Offices in Jammu and Baramulla to empower young entrepreneurs across the Union Territory.
Titled ‘Udyami YUVA Day’* in Jammu and *‘Roz-e-Yuva’ in Baramulla, the events are part of the UT Government’s flagship Mission YUVA (Yuva Udyami Vikas Abhiyan) initiative aimed at promoting self-employment and entrepreneurship among the youth.
The Jammu function was chaired by the Bank’s Executive Director Sudhir Gupta, with ACR Jammu Rajesh Kumar as special guest. Senior officials including GM & Divisional Head (Jammu) Sunit Kumar, Zonal Head Rajesh Dubey, and Deputy Director (Employment) Sunaina Saini also attended the event, which saw enthusiastic participation from aspiring entrepreneurs.
In Baramulla, Deputy Commissioner Minga Sherpa (IAS) presided over the event, joined by Zonal Head Imtiyaz Ahmad Bhat, Additional DC Sopore S.A. Raina, DGM & Cluster Head Baramulla Tanveer Ahmad Najar, Assistant Director (Employment) Rahil Amin, and Lead District Manager Manzoor Ahmad, among others.
During the twin events, 73 sanction letters were distributed among Mission YUVA–registered applicants. In Jammu, keys of commercial vehicles were also handed over to selected beneficiaries as part of credit-linked entrepreneurship support.
“Our youth are full of ideas and energy. Mission YUVA provides the platform to transform those ideas into enterprises,” said Executive Director Sudhir Gupta. “We must ensure speedy processing of all cases so that benefits reach the youth without delay.”
GM Sunit Kumar described Mission YUVA as a “movement” rather than just a scheme. “With timely credit support and mentoring, we aim to nurture a generation of job creators and not just job seekers.”
ACR Jammu and Deputy Director (Employment) praised the partnership between the Bank and the Government, calling the initiative an important step toward instilling entrepreneurial confidence among the youth.
The Jammu event concluded with a vote of thanks by Zonal Head Rajesh Dubey, who reaffirmed the Bank’s commitment to Mission YUVA and support for budding entrepreneurs.
In Baramulla, DC Minga Sherpa lauded the Bank’s proactive role in addressing unemployment and called for stronger coordination between banks and government departments to ensure the initiative’s success.
Zonal Head Imtiyaz Ahmad Bhat expressed confidence that Mission YUVA would prove to be a game-changer. “By guiding and supporting unemployed youth, we are helping them become self-reliant and contributors to regional growth.”
Beneficiaries at both venues expressed gratitude to the Bank and government officials for their support, credit linkage, and timely assistance in starting their entrepreneurial journeys.
