Srinagar, Apr 22: Authorities at Jammu and Kashmir Bank have issued a stern warning to the general public regarding a concerning trend of miscreants attempting to entrap unsuspecting individuals by promising them jobs at the prestigious financial institution.

According to reports received from various parts of the Union Territory, some unscrupulous elements posing as senior bank officials have been misleading gullible people by enticing them with false 'job opportunities at J&K Bank'.

In a statement, the bank's spokesperson termed these miscreants as fraudsters selling jobs to the gullible and emphasised that the bank follows a transparent and widely publicised process for any recruitment endeavours.

"Through this medium, let me inform the general public that whenever the Bank plans to conduct recruitments, we always issue a proper advertisement notice, which is circulated widely not only in the print media but also uploaded on the Bank's official website and all its social-networking pages," the spokesperson said.

The spokesperson urged the public to remain vigilant and cautioned against falling prey to any fraudulent schemes. "Therefore, regarding these disturbing reports, we would like to request all the concerned to remain vigilant and for any news regarding recruitment in the Bank, please keep visiting our website and official social media pages. And don't pay heed to any fraudster out there to dupe people impersonating a senior official of the Bank and tarnish the Bank's image in the process. Kindly be smart to be safe," the spokesperson added.

In the meantime, the bank has advised job seekers to regularly visit its official website and social media platforms for any legitimate recruitment announcements and to exercise caution against falling victim to such fraudulent schemes.
