J&K Bank advances youth empowerment under Mission YUVA
Srinagar, Sep 24: As part of the J&K Government’s flagship initiative Mission YUVA, aimed at promoting youth entrepreneurship and self-employment, J&K Bank organised a Roz-e-YUVA event in Srinagar to connect aspiring entrepreneurs with credit opportunities and hand over fresh sanction letters.
The event was chaired by Deputy Commissioner Srinagar Akshay Labroo, along with Bank Chief General Manager Imtiyaz Ahmad Bhat, ADC Rifat Aftab Qureshi, Zonal Head Layek Ahmad Jan, and other senior officials. Thirty beneficiaries received sanction letters to start various self-employment units.
Deputy Commissioner Labroo lauded the Bank’s role in extending timely credit support and emphasised Mission YUVA’s importance in addressing unemployment and creating an enterprise ecosystem. He noted that Srinagar leads the programme with 780 sanctioned cases to date and urged stakeholders to expedite pending loans to benefit more youth swiftly.
Chief General Manager Bhat highlighted the Bank’s commitment to supporting young entrepreneurs, helping them transform ideas into viable, growth-oriented enterprises. He urged beneficiaries to properly utilise the funds and encouraged youth to shift from job-seekers to job-providers.
Launched on 28 June 2025 by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, Mission YUVA aims to create 1.37 lakh enterprises and 4.25 lakh jobs over five years. Supported by J&K Bank’s Yuva Udaan Campaign, the initiative ensures speedy loan approvals and public awareness to build a robust entrepreneurial ecosystem across the Union Territory.
