JIM&WS concludes first-ever ski instruction course at Sonamarg
Sonamarg, Mar 16: The Jawahar Institute of Mountaineering & Winter Sports (JIM&WS) successfully wrapped up its first-ever Method of Instruction (MOI) Course in Skiing.
Held from February 22 to March 7, 2025, at the snow-laden slopes of Sonamarg, the 14-day intensive program trained aspiring instructors in advanced skiing techniques and teaching methodologies.
Led by Col. Hem Chandra Singh, Principal of JIM&WS, and Everester Mahfooz Ilahi, a renowned skier and mountaineer, the 14-day intensive program attracted trainees from all across India, including three from Jammu & Kashmir—Tajinder Singh, Mudasir Yaqoob Najar, and Tahir Shafi.
Participants received hands-on training in skiing techniques and instructional methodologies, empowering them with advanced skills to become proficient and qualified skiing instructors.
Col. Hem Chandra Singh, on the occasion, expressed his satisfaction with the course's success.
