JDU delegation urges Delhi CM for immediate action on migrant relief orders
Srinagar, Dec 11: A delegation of the Janata Dal (United), led by Rakesh Handoo, Spokesperson and Incharge of the Migrant Cell (J&K), met Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta to flag the continuing delay in implementing key relief measures for Kashmiri Migrants residing in the national capital.
The meeting was arranged through the intervention of senior JDU leaders KC Tyagi, Harivansh Narayan Singh, and GM Shaheen, President JDU J&K, after Tyagi formally sought urgent time from the Chief Minister in view of the growing distress among migrant families.
During the interaction, Handoo drew the CM’s attention to the administrative paralysis surrounding several Government announcements — including the removal of the Rs 26,800 income cap on Ad-hoc Monthly Relief, the launch of the Special Opportunity Scheme, clearance of arrears till September 2025, and continuation of the Rs 3,250 per person entitlement (up to four members).
