A senior official confirmed to news agency JKNS that the NOTAM extension comes in light of "the prevailing security situation," particularly after India launched Operation Sindoor, targeting terror infrastructure across the border in retaliation to the recent deadly attack in Pahalgam.

"Flight operations at Srinagar, Jammu will remain suspended till May 14 following the extended NOTAM," the official said.
