Jammu, May 14: The Press Information Bureau (PIB) Fact Check has cautioned people against a video purportedly showing ìa soldier from Jammuî levelling allegations against the central government vis-‡-vis the Pahalgam terrorist attack.

ìThe video of a soldier from the Indian Army, who is a deserter, is going viral on social media while levelling allegations against the central government regarding the Pahalgam terrorist attack. The soldier seen in the video is a deserter, who has not been present on his duty since March 2025. He has not been in contact with his family even since then,î PIB Fact Check has stated, while asking the people, particularly the netizens, to stay alert and not to fall for such videos.

The video post, marked by PIB Fact Check as fake, shared from the handle of some Nandhini Saran showed a person with the claim, A soldier from Jammu reveals the truth behind the #Pahalgam false flag operation, exposing Modi and the BJP.

Meanwhile, in a related development, District Police Ganderbal in its official statement said, ìThe missing report of Army Sepoy Dlhair Mushtaq Sofi of 29 RR, lodged on March 11, 2025, has been converted into an FIR after a video showing him surfaced on social media.î

ìThe video, verified by his father and uncle, prompted the registration of FIR No 75/2025 under Sections 197(d), 152 BNS at Police Station Ganderbal. Preliminary enquiry also revealed the individual was involved in online gambling and had debts exceeding Rs 10 Lakh. The investigation has been initiated,î the statement read.
