Jammu, Jun 27: In pursuance of policy of Indian Railways to enhance non-fare revenue, commercial advertisements will be shown through LED TV screens in every coach of all Vande Bharat trains of the Jammu Railway Division.

Through these advertisements, a revenue of Rs 6.5 Cr will be generated in the division and this non-fare revenue will be used for the modernisation of the railways and improvement in passenger facilities.

In the furtherance of this policy, the newly formed Jammu division of Northern Railway led by Senior Divisional Commercial Manager (DCM) Uchit Singhal, under the guidance of Divisional Railway Manager Vivek Kumar, is making efforts to successfully implement the non-fare revenue strategy to increase the income of the railways by providing attractive opportunities for advertisements.

“Indian Railways has a huge network across the country which makes it an attractive platform for advertisers. It shows the increase in the revenue of the railways. Under this policy, in the newly formed Jammu division of Northern Railway, commercial advertisements will be shown in every coach of the train through LED TV screens in all Vande Bharat trains of the division like 22478, 22477, 26401, 26402, 26403, 26404,” stated Senior DCM Uchit Singhal.

He said that with this strategy, the advertising company would be able to promote any of its goods or policies and along with this, the revenue of the railways would also increase.

“Moving forward in this sequence, 40 LED screens in train number 22478/22477 have been allotted to the company for advertising at the rate of Rs 39.3 lakh per year for 5 years and 16 LED screens in train number 26401 and 26402 have been allotted to the company for advertising at the rate of Rs 33 lakh per year for 5 years. Similarly, 160 LED screens in train number 26403 and 26404 have been allotted to the company for advertising at the rate of Rs 39 lakh per year for 5 years,” Singhal said.

“Through these advertisements, a revenue of Rs 6.5 Cr will be generated in the division and this revenue will be used for the modernization of the railways and improvement in passenger facilities. The aim of the railways is to increase the non-fare revenue so that it can help in improving the infrastructure and services in the railways,” he stated.
