Jammu Railway Division holds women’s health screening campaign

Jammu, Sep 19: A health checkup screening and awareness campaign, in the form of a series of health camps, was organised for women and rail beneficiaries at various stations in the Jammu Railway Division on September 18, 2025, under the “Swastha Naari, Sashakt Parivar Abhiyan”.

“This is the first health care awareness and preventive screening campaign in the Jammu (Railway) Division, aimed at empowering women and encouraging them to build strong families. The programme, led by Anil Kumar, Additional Chief Medical Superintendent, Jammu Division, was organised at all important stations in the division, including Jammu, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra, Pathankot, and Budgam,” Public Relations Inspector, Jammu Railway Division, Raghvender Singh said.

The programme focussed on creating awareness about important issues related to women's health, including menstrual health, cancer prevention and nutrition.

During this period, the Safai Mitras were also medically examined, and protective equipment like masks and gloves was distributed to them, and they were informed about health-related preventive and promotional measures, Singh stated.
