Srinagar, Feb 24: The Meteorological Centre, Srinagar today predicted a shift in weather patterns across the region from February 25 onwards till March 1, with rain and snow expected over both divisions of Jammu and Kashmir.

An official of Meteorological Centre Srinagar said the weather conditions on February 23 and 24 will remain dry. However, from February 25 evening onwards, to February 28 late night, the region will likely to witness generally cloudy skies with light to moderate rain and snowfall at most places.

The MeT official warned of temporary disruptions in road transportation, particularly over key mountain passes, including Sadhna Pass, Razdan Pass, Sonmarg-Zojila-Gumri Axis, Mughal Road, Sinthan Pass, and other hilly routes.

Moreover, a significant drop in daytime temperatures is anticipated, which could impact travel and daily activities for locals and tourists.

This wet spell is expected to continue until late on February 28, bringing precipitation across the Kashmir and Jammu divisions.

The official said the weather conditions will remain generally cloudy with light rain/snow at scattered to fairly widespread places on March 1 & 2.

The official advised tourists, travelers and transporters to plan their travel accordingly and follow advisories from administration and traffic department for updates.
