Srinagar, July 11: The Meteorological department in its fresh advisory warned of rain, thundershower along with gusty winds in several parts of J&K in next 3-5 hours.

It also warned of intense showers which may trigger flashfloods, landslides, mudslides and shooting stones at vulnerable areas of Jammu and Kashmir.

The MeT also advised general public to stay away from loose structures, old trees, electric poles and lines in the meanwhile.

“Nowcast update JK@ 2030 hrs: A spell of light to moderate rain/thunder at many places of Kashmir Division, Poonch, Rajouri, Ramban, Doda, Reasi, Udhampur & few parts of plains of Jammu during next 3-5 hrs,” reads an advisory.

“Few places may recieve intense showers (May generate flash floods/ landslides/ mudslides/ shooting stones). Also few places may experience strong gusty winds (40-50KMPH),” its said.

The advisory urged people to stay away from loose structures/old trees/ electric poles/ lines etc.
