J-K LA adjourned for 15 mins over LoP's remarks on Pir Panchal
Jammu, Feb 4: J&K Legislative Assembly on Wednesday was adjourned for 15 minutes after witnessing commotion on remarks of the Leader of Opposition (LoP) Sunil Sharma on "Pir Panchal" made a day earlier outside the J&K Legislature.
The issue was raised by Congress MLA from Rajouri Iftkhar Ahmed when the debate on the motion of thanks on the Lieutenant Governor's address in the Legislative Assembly had just started.

Upon this, BJP MLAs rose saying, "Yes, there is no Pir Panchal region. Jammu is one region."
NC MLA Aijaz Jan, too, joined the cause, opposing BJP MLAs, saying, "This is an insult to the people from Pir Panchal. He should apologise."
Soon BJP MLAs on one side while NC and Congress MLAs on the other side were up on their feet raising slogans.
Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Choudhary and all other NC MLAs too joined the cause. Deputy Chief Minister too sought apology from the LoP. "LoP Sahib should apologise. Pir Panchal region people have made sacrifices," he said.
Minister for Transport Satish Sharma too endorsed Choudhary's remarks and sought LoP's apology.
