J-K Assembly Elections: PDP’s former spokesperson Tahir Sayeed, Najeeb Khan quit party
Srinagar, Sep 02: The two former spokespersons of Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) on Monday tendered resignation from the post and basic membership of the party.
The duo includes Tahir Sayeed, former media advisor of PDP chief and former chief minister Mehbooba Mufti; and Najeeb Khan.
Several PDP leaders have resigned from the basis membership of the party after they were not given mandate for the upcoming assembly elections which are scheduled to be held from September 18.
Recently party chief spokesperson Suhail Bukhari also parted ways from the PDP and joined Congress party a day before.
“It is with a heavy heart that I write this unpleasant letter of resignation from the post of spokesperson and basic membership of the party. It was a great and learning experience to serve the party and our people. I wish you and the party very best,” Tahir Sayeed in a post on X informed.

“Tere badalne ka dukh nahi hai mujhe, Main toh mere yaqeen pe sharminda hun,” he added.
Similarly another youth leader Er Najeeb Khan also resigned from the PDP due to growing discontent within the party.
“I, eng. Najeeb Khan, hereby tender my resignation from the basic membership of the People's Democratic Party (PDP), effective immediately. This decision has been made after thoughtful consideration and on personal grounds,” he said.
“My journey with the party has been one of immense learning and growth, and I am grateful for the opportunities that have come my way during my tenure. However, due to personal reasons, I believe it is in the best interest for me to step aside from my role within the party,” he also said.
“I would like to extend my sincere thanks to the leadership, my colleagues, and supporters who have been a part of this journey. I wish the party continued success in its future endeavors and remain optimistic about its vision for the future,” Najeeb added.
