IUST wins 5 medals at Chancellor’s Sports Tournament

Awantipora, Jan 22: The Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST) won five silver medals in table tennis at the third Chancellor’s State-Level Tournament organised by the University of Jammu, with teams from 19 institutions across the North Zone taking part.

Congratulating the participants, Prof Shakil Ahmad Romshoo, as per a statement issued by IUST on Thursday, said that IUST places immense importance on the extracurricular activities, adding that IUST has the distinction of crediting extracurricular activities, thereby incentivising students’ participation. He also added that the university has framed a sports action plan catering to the setting up of standard infrastructure, besides envisaging the engagement of nationally and internationally recognised sports persons as professors of practice.
