IUST organises extension visit under AYUSH international conference
Awantipora, Oct 22: The Centre for AYUSH Sciences at the Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST) organised an extension tour for scholars, conference delegates, UDMA members, and medical professionals to the high-altitude Daksum Herbal Garden.
Led by Dr. Arsheed A. Ganaie, Coordinator of the Centre for AYUSH, the tour aimed to introduce participants to the cultivation, management, and therapeutic applications of various high-altitude medicinal plants. Over thirty different species of medicinal plants were identified and discussed. Dr. Ganaie noted that IUST is working towards increased integration of traditional medical practices and knowledge with contemporary systems, in alignment with the objectives of IKS initiatives.
Notably, IUST recently organized an International Conference under the aegis of the Centre for AYUSH Sciences, which was inaugurated by the Director General of CCRUM, Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India.
The conference saw participation from renowned experts and scientists, focusing on knowledge exchange and collaborative research.
