IUST organises AIDS awareness programme
Srinagar, Dec 6: The Islamic University of Science and Technology in collaboration with the Jammu Kashmir AIDS Control Society (JKACS), Department of Health and Medical Education, and Jammu & Kashmir Paramedical & Nursing Council, hosted a week-long World AIDS Day programme from December 1 to 5.
Under the aegis of the Red Ribbon Club, the Mantaqi Memorial College of Nursing and Medical Technology at IUST spearheaded the event, themed “Let Communities Lead.”
Prof M. Ayoub Qadri, Dean School of Health Sciences praised the efforts of IUST in organising such programmes and urged students to champion awareness initiatives.
Asmat Parveen, Principal SMMCN&MT said that such programs emphasised the need to address discrimination against AIDS patients, and underscored the significance of community-led initiatives. The programme featured competitions, a human chain, poster-making, rangoli, and educational sessions aimed at fostering awareness.
