IUST holds workshop on career advancement, research publishing
Awantipora, Aug 20: The Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST), through its Directorate of Internal Quality Assurance (DIQA) in collaboration with Rumi Library, organised a workshop on the Career Advancement Scheme (CAS) and research publications to enhance faculty understanding of UGC regulations and publishing standards.
In his inaugural address, Dr. Peer Bilal Ahmad, Director DIQA, stressed the importance of properly adhering to UGC guidelines, noting that errors in CAS applications often delay faculty promotions.
The workshop featured two technical sessions. Dr. Farooq Hussain Bhat, Deputy Director DIQA, discussed UGC Regulations (2016 & 2018), while Dr. Sheikh Mohammad Imran, Librarian IUST, covered research publications, emphasizing ethics, plagiarism, cloned journals, and best practices. Faculty from the Schools of Engineering & Technology, Health Sciences, and Architecture & Planning, along with Library and DIQA staff, participated actively. Dr. Athar ud Din, Deputy Director DIQA, delivered the vote of thanks.
