Israeli airstrikes on Gaza leave 69 Palestinians dead in 2 days
New Delhi, Aug 24: Israeli airstrikes on Gaza have left 69 Palestinians dead in 2 days and injured 212 others, according to a report from Gaza’s Health Ministry, reported Al Jazeera.
A Hamas delegation, led by senior official Khalil al-Hayya, has arrived in Cairo for ongoing ceasefire talks, the report added. The group is expected to receive updates on the negotiations but is not anticipated to participate directly.
Meanwhile, Israel’s military has issued new evacuation orders for residents in northern Gaza amid intensified bombardments across the region.
A UN official expressed grave concern, noting that Palestinian children are suffering the most as Gaza faces severe shortages of humanitarian aid and a surge in malnutrition.
The conflict has resulted in over 40,334 deaths and 93,356 injuries in Gaza. In Israel, an estimated 1,139 people were killed during Hamas-led attacks on October 7.
