Israel-Palestine Conflict | PM Modi engages in diplomatic dialogue with Jordan’s King Abdullah II
New Delhi: In a diplomatic exchange, Prime Minister Narendra Modi engaged in a telephone conversation with Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein of Jordan, with the duo deliberating on the unfolding developments in the West Asia region.
PM Modi took to X to share concerns, emphasising the need for collective efforts to address security and humanitarian challenges.
“We share concern regarding terrorism, violence, and loss of civilian lives. The concerted efforts needed for early resolution of the security and humanitarian situation,” the PM posted on X.
Last week, PM Modi held a conversation with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, during which he expressed heartfelt condolences for the lives lost at the Al Ahli Hospital in Gaza.
He also highlighted the enduring ties between India and the Middle East and voiced deep concern over the increasing incidents of terrorism, violence, and deteriorating security conditions in the region.
Additionally, PM Modi reaffirmed India’s unwavering stance on the Israel-Palestine issue, underscoring the importance of continued communication between the two nations to address regional concerns.
India’s commitment to aiding the region was further demonstrated by dispatching an Air Force plane on Sunday, loaded with around 6.5 tonnes of critical medical supplies and an additional 32 tonnes of disaster relief materials.
This humanitarian mission, sent to Egypt’s El Arish Airport, included essential items like life-saving medicines, surgical supplies, tents, sleeping bags, tarps, sanitary utilities, and water purification tablets, among other necessities.
The international community has increasingly looked to India not only to play a diplomatic role in the ongoing Israel-Palestine conflict but also to contribute to peace-building efforts in the West Asia region.
