Islamic University of Science and Technology convenes BORS meeting

Awantipora, Aug 09: School of Business Studies, IUST convened Board of Research Studies which was chaired by Prof Shakil Ahmad Romshoo, Vice Chancellor and was attended by Prof Ashok Aima, former Vice Chancellor CUJ, Prof Imtiyaz ul Haq, UoK, Prof A H Moon, DAA, Prof Sheikh Javid Dean Research, Prof Pervez A Mir, Dean School of Business Studies, Prof M Shafi, HoD Department of Economics among others.

The research output of the school was reviewed and Prof Romshoo emphasised on the importance of maintaining standards of quality research and assessment.

He urged the faculty and researchers to stress on solution driven research wherein the focus is at finding solutions to problems. He said researchers should adopt a transdisciplinary approach and explore diverse areas.

He further said that undertaking research vis-a-vis strategies for achieving SDGs, studying corporate affairs, new age managerial practices, challenges and opportunities arising with the advent of new technologies should be prioritised.

The board also reviewed synopsis of scholars and assigned, confirmed supervisors. Earlier, this month the School of Sciences had also convened the board’s meeting.
