Islamia College organises series of academic events
Srinagar, July 4: Islamia College of Science and Commerce (ICSC) has organised slew of academic events on various issues.
In a statement, Dr Syed Untoo, Media and Publicity Secretary (ICSC) said the events were kick started by Principal Professor (Dr.) Tehmina Yousuf.
The statement said the events including the prestigious Entrepreneurship awareness Programme, Annual Road Race, 2024, International Day Against Drug Abuse & Illicit Trafficking, Extension Lectures on Cyber Security, Cyber Jagrookta Events/ Sessions.
The Entrepreneurship Awareness Program was jointly organised by IIC of Islamia College in collaboration with JKEDI, Srinagar. The program was attended by large number of students, faculty and non-teaching staff of the college besides students entrepreneurs of the college, Dr. Zahoor Ahmad introduced the theme of the program and its importance in contemporary times. Principal Professor (Dr.) Tehmina Yousuf underscored need of innovation and entrepreneurship skills among student community. She apprised the students that entrepreneurship is way forward for them in today’s changing and challenging jobs and economic scenario. Syed Miftah Zahoor, JKEDI, Srinagar gave a marathon presentation.
In continuation to the series of events in the College celebration of ‘International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking’, a programme was held in the College. The programme was organised by NSS Unit-II. Dr Ajaz Ahmad Suhaff, Consultant Psychiatrist, GMC, Srinagar highlighted facts related to the usage of drugs in any form. He emphasised the importance of early intervention, identification of risk factors, and seeking professional help. Principal stressed upon the causes of drug addiction and role of youth in eradication of this grave menace.
