Convert neglected land in Qamarwari into park

We the residents of Qamarwari HIG Colony (SDA) want to highlight a persistent issue plaguing the community: foul odours and water logging. Adjacent to Anjum Masjid lies a stretch of land that has become a breeding ground for unpleasant smell and unwanted critters due to constant water accumulation.

This problem not only affects the quality of life for residents but also poses health hazards.

It's time for the authorities to take action and address this pressing concern.

The area surrounding the Masjid should be a place of peace and serenity, but instead, it has become synonymous with an unbearable stench.

The foul odour emanating from the waterlogged land not only disrupts daily life but also creates an unsanitary environment.

The residents find it difficult to enjoy outdoor activities or even keep their windows open due to the overpowering smell that permeates their homes.

Stagnant water serves as a breeding ground for mosquitoes and other pests, increasing the chances of vector-borne diseases.

The issue of land filling is not just about eliminating an unpleasant smell; it's about improving the overall quality of life for residents. As part of the Smart City project, this neglected space can be transformed into a vibrant park.

By converting this land into a park for children or a joggers' paradise, authorities can not only address the current issue but also contribute to the holistic development of the area.

There is ample space for physical activities like jogging, cycling, and kids' entertainment. The park can encourage residents to lead active lifestyles. Moreover, the presence of greenery can improve air quality, reduce stress levels, and foster a sense of connection with nature, all essential components of a healthy community.

Bijbehara-Khanabal road in shambles

We, the residents of Wahidan tehsil, Sallar Pahalgam, would like to draw the attention of the concerned authorities to the terrible condition of a 3-km road connecting two vital routes: Bijbehara-Pahalgam road and Khanabal-Pahalgam road. The road is severely dilapidated with large potholes, causing significant delays in travel time. Despite being black-topped in 2017, it has received no upgrades since then. Given the constant influx of vehicles from various parts of Kashmir to Pahalgam, we request the R&B Division, Anantnag to address this issue promptly.

Relocate waste receptacle

We, the residents of Neelam Chowk, are facing significant hardships due to the large dumpster located in our vicinity. A lot of foul smell emanates from the waste that has made our life miserable. Moreover, this spot has become a breeding ground for mosquitoes and other fleas. The population of street dogs has also increased due to feeding on the leftovers that has been generated in good amounts from nearby restaurants and is unfortunately being dumped there for the past many years.

We really are not able to breathe fresh air and the place is now being dominated by foul smell and flies.

We, therefore, request the concerned department to look into the matter and relieve us from the hardship we are facing on a daily basis.

Resolve waste dumping issue near E&S Office in Bemina

This is to bring to the attention of concerned authorities a significant issue at the six-way crossing near the Economics and Statistics Office in Bemina, Srinagar, particularly towards the New RTO. The waste dumping and collection point at this location has led to the presence of hundreds of stray dogs around the clock.

This situation poses a serious threat to pedestrians and two-wheeler drivers, making it almost impossible to pass through the area safely, even during daylight. The constant presence of these dogs creates a hazardous environment and raises concerns about public safety and hygiene.

I request the concerned authorities to intervene promptly and take appropriate action to address this problem.
